Latest update date: May 3, 2026

Effective date: May 3, 2026

This User Service and Privacy Agreement explains the terms for using Fakereview and how Fakereview handles information in connection with its browser extension, website account, and Pro subscription service. Please read this agreement carefully before using the service. By installing, accessing, signing in to, purchasing, or otherwise using Fakereview, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this agreement.

1. User Rights and Obligations

You are responsible for preparing the device, browser, internet connection, and other resources needed to use Fakereview. Any network, device, or data costs are your responsibility.

You must use Fakereview in a lawful and reasonable manner. You may not use the service to attack systems, interfere with other users, bypass access controls, scrape at abusive scale, or violate applicable laws, platform rules, or third-party rights.

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. If you share your account, password, browser profile, or device with others, you are responsible for the consequences caused by that sharing.

Fakereview provides review credibility assistance only. The analysis result is for reference and does not prove that a review is real, fake, lawful, unlawful, accurate, or inaccurate. You should make purchase decisions based on your own judgment and other available information.

2. Service Description and Platform Responsibility

Fakereview is a browser extension and web service that helps shoppers review product feedback before purchase. When you browse supported shopping websites, the extension may read product review text on the page and show helper labels such as Genuine or Suspicious.

We use commercially reasonable efforts to keep the service available, secure, and useful. However, internet services may be affected by network failures, browser changes, shopping website changes, third-party API failures, service maintenance, security incidents, force majeure, or other events outside our reasonable control.

We may update, improve, suspend, or discontinue part of the service when required for security, maintenance, legal compliance, or product development. We may also restrict or terminate access if we reasonably believe an account is being used in violation of this agreement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fakereview is not responsible for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or lost-profit damages arising from use of the service.

3. Information We Collect and Process

Account information: when you register, sign in, or use Google sign-in, we may process your email address, display name, login state, account identifier, subscription status, and related authentication information.

Subscription information: when you purchase Pro, we may keep the subscription state, plan state, order status, Stripe customer or checkout identifiers, and other information needed to activate, verify, recover, and manage paid access. Payment card numbers and card security codes are processed by Stripe. We do not store full payment card details.

Extension installation information: the extension may generate a random installation ID. This ID may be used for free quota, login redirects, account linking, subscription status sync, and abuse prevention.

Review text: when you use Fakereview on supported shopping websites, the extension may read product review text visible on the page and send the necessary review text to the detection service or to the AI service you configure in the extension in order to return review credibility hints.

Local settings: the extension may store API endpoints, usage mode, quota state, account state, login state, selected service URLs, and user preferences in browser local storage or sync storage.

Technical information: we may process basic request information such as IP address, request time, browser type, error logs, and service response status for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and service reliability.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to provide review analysis, display credibility hints, operate free and Pro access, manage accounts, process subscriptions, prevent abuse, improve service reliability, and respond to user requests.

We do not use review text to make a final statement about the legal truth of a product review. Review analysis is an automated helper signal only.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not require you to upload shopping history, photos, contacts, identity documents, or unrelated personal files for the core review analysis feature.

5. Third-Party Services

Google sign-in: if you choose Google sign-in, we use information provided through Google's authorization flow only to complete sign-in and maintain your account session.

Stripe: payments and subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Stripe processes payment information under its own terms and privacy practices. We use Stripe information only as needed to create checkout sessions, confirm payment status, manage subscription access, and handle related support.

AI services: depending on your selected mode, review text may be sent to the Fakereview service, OpenAI, DeepSeek, a local Ollama service, or another compatible API endpoint you configure. If you configure your own API service, your use of that service is also subject to that provider's terms and privacy policy.

Shopping websites: Fakereview runs on supported shopping pages to read visible review text. Fakereview does not control those websites and is not responsible for their content, availability, privacy practices, or purchasing process.

6. Cookies and Local Storage

The website may use cookies or similar browser storage to keep you signed in, protect sessions, and remember service state.

The browser extension may use Chrome extension storage to save configuration and quota state. You can remove extension local data by uninstalling the extension, clearing extension data, or resetting extension settings.

If you block cookies or local storage, some account, login, subscription, or extension features may not work properly.

7. Data Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We share information only when needed to provide the service, process payment, comply with law, protect rights and security, or follow your instructions.

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, court order, government request, or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, security issues, fraud, or violations of this agreement.

If Fakereview is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, asset transfer, or similar transaction, relevant service information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality and privacy protections.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Account, subscription, and necessary service records are retained for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain business records.

Review text sent for analysis is used to generate the requested result. We aim to keep review analysis data only as long as necessary for service operation, troubleshooting, quota control, security, or legal compliance.

You may request account deletion or ask privacy questions using the contact information at the end of this agreement. Some information may be retained where required by law, payment records, security needs, or legitimate business obligations.

9. Children's Privacy

Fakereview is not directed to children. If you are under the age required by applicable law to use online services independently, you may use Fakereview only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child without required consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete or limit that information.

10. User Choices and Rights

You may choose not to create an account, but some features, including Pro subscription sync, may require login.

You may remove the extension, clear browser storage, change extension settings, or stop using supported shopping websites with the extension enabled.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.

11. Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure

Fakereview's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use Google account information only for sign-in, account identification, and session-related service functions. We do not use Google account information for unrelated advertising or sell it to third parties.

12. Updates to This Agreement

We may update this agreement from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with an updated date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where reasonable.

Your continued use of Fakereview after an update becomes effective means that you accept the updated agreement. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you should stop using the service.
